Description

Stapleton Manor is an 18th-century manor house, significantly altered and reshaped in 1825. The exterior is faced with ham stone ashlar, topped by a hipped Welsh slate roof with wide eaves soffits and stone chimney stacks. The west-facing elevation, overlooking the road, is three bays wide and features sash windows within architraves, with 12 panes above and 16 panes below.

The north entrance elevation is more irregular, with a lower bay. This bay has a three-light mullioned window framed by an architrave, with leaded glass. The second bay has a 16-pane sash window above a smaller 12-pane sash, and a three-pane attic casement above that. The third bay contains a 16-pane sash window above a projecting, flat-roofed stone porch. The porch has plain angle pilasters, slim semi-circular arched sidelights, and a semi-circular arched entrance with recessed blocks and a keystoned arch within an architrave, enclosing a pair of three-panelled doors and a three-unit fanlight. The interior of the manor house has not been documented.
