Description

The stable block, located about 20 metres north-west of North Perrott Manor House, is likely from 1877 and was designed by architect T.H. Wyatt. It is constructed from cut and squared ham stone with ashlar dressings and features a plain clay tiled roof with gables and ashlar chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a six-bay north-east elevation. The central two bays are gabled and include three-centre coach arches, cruciform windows with small-pane casements on the first floor, and a circular attic window in a moulded surround. Ground floor side bays have casement windows, with loft doors above them set into small gables. There are single-storey extensions on both sides, one of which connects to North Perrott Manor House. On the north side, there is a single-storey carriage house with a cast-iron and glass canopy on its south side. The stable yard is enclosed by a three-metre high ashlar wall, which features rusticated ashlar piers at the yard gateway on the east side and a semi-circular arched pedestrian entrance.
