Description
The stable block, located 70 meters north of Hoveton Hall, was built between 1809 and 1812. It is constructed from gault brick and features slate roofs, forming three sides of a courtyard. The central section is a two-storey carriage house with five bays, where the central three bays project forward under a pediment. There are two double carriage doors in the central bays, which are set beneath a single segmental arch. Above these doors, three casement windows with glazing bars are present. Each side bay has a pedestrian entrance door with an overlight located below the first-floor casement window. The stable block has a hipped roof topped with a central polygonal open cupola. The central block connects to the stables at right angles, which are single-storey structures featuring four loose box doors with overlights, interspersed with three casement windows, all under hipped roofs. The stable block on the west side of the courtyard has been altered by the addition of sliding 20th-century garage doors, which incorporate the two southern loose box doors and rise to the same height as the original structure.
