Description
North Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1587, with alterations from the 17th century. It is constructed of brick and features a plain tiled roof. The south front has two storeys and a dormer attic set on a brick plinth. To the west, there is a four-storey step-gabled square porch, with the ground floor door blocked and replaced by a window. Each floor above has one three-light 18th-century casement window. There is also one window under the eaves on both the east and west sides, with the eaves being saw-toothed and dating from the 19th century.
To the left, there is one bay with a renewed four-centred door beneath a square hood, and a two-light 18th-century casement window above it. To the right of the porch, there are four early 18th-century two-light cross casements on each floor, paired into two groups and all set under segmental arches. The saw-toothed eaves cornice is located below the gabled roof, which features two gabled dormers with 20th-century casements. There is a ridge stack positioned to the right of the centre and a rebuilt internal east stack. The stepped gables are supported by moulded kneelers, with the eastern gable having been rebuilt in the 20th century. The external western stack is now blocked due to the construction of an adjoining two-storey 20th-century house.
