Description
Greengates is a house dating from around 1700, constructed of brick with a plain tile roof. It has two storeys and is arranged in three bays. The central entrance features a plank door set in a moulded timber case, with a door surround made of brick pilasters that support a segmental pediment. There is a moulded (pulvinated) platband between the storeys and rusticated quoins at the corners. Above the door, there is an ashlar achievement set in a recess. The windows are 20th-century two-light casements. The gabled roof has an internal stack at the east end and a partly external stack at the west end, which is shared with an adjoining range to the left. The gables are shaped and rest on moulded kneelers. To the left, there is an early 18th-century one-storey range with a dormer attic, featuring a shaped west gable, two 20th-century casements, and two casements in the dormers, all under a thatched roof. The interiors have been altered in the 20th century.
