Description
Home Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick, which has been colourwashed on the facade, and features thatched roofs. The building has a T-shaped plan and the facade consists of two storeys arranged in three bays. A central gabled porch from the early 20th century is present, with renewed casements on either side and three similar windows on the first floor. Two late 17th century oval lights are located flanking the central first floor window. The roof is gabled with internal end stacks. The south gable includes a square staircase tower at the west corner, which is lit by two 20th century windows. The north gable is made of header bond brickwork and has a datestone from 1791. At the rear, there is a gabled two-storey cross wing with a central ridge stack. The north side retains a five-light early 18th century casement on the first floor, with a similar two-light casement to its left. The gable end features tumbling.
