Description
This building is a barn, located 20 meters east of Hoveton Old Hall, converted into a house in 1981. It dates from around 1700 and is constructed of brick with a pantile roof. The barn has two storeys and is divided into seven bays on the north side by pilaster strips. The central entrance features a 20th-century door. Moving outward, the ground floor includes upright oval windows beneath hood moulds, followed by bays with arched two-light 20th-century windows. The next bays again feature an upright oval window on the right, while the left side is blank. The corners of the barn are accentuated with clasping pilasters. The first floor has seven horizontal oval windows, and there is a moulded eaves cornice. The gabled roof has a ridge stack positioned to the right of center and a west internal end stack, both from the 20th century. The gable heads have a moulded platband at the eaves, with the gables resting on kneelers. The south side also consists of seven bays divided by pilaster strips, with a 20th-century window inserted. There are attic lights in the roof.
