Description

The stables, located 80 metres south of Hainbury House, date from the late 18th century. They are constructed from local stone that is cut, squared, and coursed, and are topped with undulating plain clay tiles between coped gables that feature ball finials. The building is two storeys high and consists of eight structural bays. There are doors with segmental arch heads in bays 3, 5, 7, and 8, along with a casement window in bay 6. The first floor has doors in bay 2, which are accessed by stone stairs with a metal handrail, as well as doors in bays 5, 7, and 8, all of which have segmental voussoired arch heads. The stables also include long ventilation slits and tie braced roof trusses.
