Description
The Stables, located to the north-east of Stone House, were built in 1778 by H Harcourt. The building is faced with grey headers and features red brick window dressings and quoins. It has a wooden eaves cornice and a hipped tiled roof. The central section of the stables projects forward and includes a central doorway, a painted stringcourse, and two lunette windows with painted keystones above. There is a semi-circular recessed panel between the lunette windows and a pediment above that contains a round window in the tympanum. The side sections have large elliptical-headed arches with double carriage doorways designed to look like panels. On the south side, there is an additional section with a pentice roof that includes a doorway with a segmental fanlight.
