Description
The Cottage is a detached house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed from roughly cut and squared lias stone and features a thatched roof with plain gables and brick end chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and three bays. The windows are casement style with cast iron lattices and small panes, featuring 'Y' traceried heads; the upper windows are two-light and the lower windows are three-light, with timber lintels above. The second bay on the lower level has a boarded door set in a rustic timber and thatch open porch, which is accessed by one step. Attached to the south gable is a long single-storey wing that has a hipped double Roman clay tiled roof and a brick chimney stack, with no windows facing the west roadside. The interior has not been seen. The Cottage is currently known as the Agnes Weston Sailer's Rest Home.
