Hotel, possibly 2 houses formerly. Possible C17, but remodelled early C19. Local lias stone cut and squared, some Ham stone dressings; plain clay tiled roof between coped gables; brick end and intermediate chimney stacks. Two storeys, 7 bays. Above, small-pane 2-light casement windows, to bays 4, 5 and 6 in Ham stone surrounds which may be adaptation of earlier windows; below are 3-light small-pane casement windows in Gothic arched top panes, only 2-light to bay 5; to lower bays 3 and 7 are panelled doors in plain openings under timber lintols. Sundry additions to rear. Interior not seen. About 3 metres from house the boundary railings, alternate hoops enclosing plain spikes and solitary spikes; matching gate opposite bay 7, and C20 gate opposite bay 3; brick return wall with stone coping on south-west side; the whole adding to the setting of the house, and to the streetscene.
