Description

The Manor Hotel, originally listed as the Manor House Hotel and Barns, is a 17th-century building that has undergone many modern additions. It features a stuccoed flint and brick exterior with a steep pantile roof and coped gable ends. The structure is two storeys tall with an attic and is approximately eight bays long. On the first floor, there are three sash windows with glazing bars, and a gabled wing is located at the center. The ground floor has a modern projecting one-storey addition on the left and a small gabled wing with later additions on the right, along with modern flat-roofed dormers. A brick chimney stack is positioned north of the center. The east side includes a modern lean-to and a one-storey addition on the ground floor, while the first floor features three windows: an 18th-century casement with leaded panes, an original mullion/transom window, and a 19th-century casement. There are also three modern flat-roofed dormers. The wing on the left, which is of 17th or 18th-century origin, has been largely rebuilt in the mid-19th century and is also stuccoed flint with a gabled east end. Inside, at the north end of the main block, there are chamfered ceiling beams with carved stops.
