Description

The stables and other outbuildings, located about 5 metres north-east of Tintinhull House, date from the 18th century. They are constructed from Ham stone ashlar with a red brick gable on the east side, and feature plain clay tiles over stone slate base courses between coped gables. The building has a 'T'-plan with additions and stands two storeys high, showcasing a six-bay south elevation that faces the entrance courtyard.

The lower bays 1, 4, and 6 have hollow chamfered mullioned windows with two lights set in recesses without labels. Bay 2 contains garage doors with a three-light casement window above, while bays 3 and 5 feature boarded doors, with bay 3 set in a recess and including a glazed panel. There is a straight joint between bays 4 and 5. The east gable, made of brick in Flemish bond, includes a semi-circular arched doorway at first floor level, which is accessed by a stone stairway with an early 19th-century cast iron handrail.

At the rear, there are two projections; the longer one has queen post and collar trusses in the roof and consists of four bays, possibly indicating an earlier building. This section also features stairs at the north end leading to a first floor doorway.
