Description
The former stables, located about 60 metres northwest of Tutsham Hall, date from the late 18th century or early 19th century and are now used as a store. They are constructed from galleted ragstone, with weatherboarded gable ends above the wall-plate and a plain tile roof. The building is two storeys high, featuring a galleted stone plinth topped with chamfered red brick. It has a half-hipped roof and no windows on the front (south) side. The main entrance consists of a full-height central door opening with red brick dressings, tall double doors on the ground floor, and a wood diamond mullion grille above. There is also a double-doored hatch to the first floor. To the left, there is a single-storey addition made of red brick in English bond, with a plain-tile roof that is hipped to the left. This addition includes a gabled and weatherboarded loading dormer to the left of centre and two stable doors. Inside, the building features a staggered butt purlin roof without queen struts in the stone section.
