Description
Court Lodge Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 18th century, with a core that may be from the 16th or early 17th century and some alterations from the 19th century. The west gable end features a chequered pattern of red and grey brick, while the south side has an area of 16th or early 17th century red brick laid in English bond. The roof is covered with plain tiles. The building consists of two parallel ranges, which may be from different periods, and has a double-fronted gable end that dates to the 18th or early 19th century. It stands two storeys high with a garret and has a plat band along the longer south elevation. Both ranges have half-hipped roofs facing the road, and the gables are connected at the bases of the half hips by continuous brickwork that hides the valley. A brick ridge stack is located towards the center of the south range. The west gable end has a regular two-window arrangement featuring three-light leaded windows with top lights. There are also two 19th century canted bay windows on the ground floor, which are positioned under a continuous hood, with a half-glazed door to the left of the center of the gable. The interior has not been inspected, but the building is included for its group value.
