Description

This is a pair of houses located on Church Street in Teston, built in the later 18th century and altered in the 19th century. They are rendered, with a plain tile roof. The houses are two storeys high, with attics and a cellar, and sit on a rendered plinth. A plat band runs around the facade. The building has gabled ends with projecting brick stacks on rendered bases, and two small hipped dormers. The front has a regular three-window arrangement featuring 16-pane sashes with thin glazing bars in open boxes; the ground-floor windows have segmental heads. Two adjacent doors are centrally located, raised two steps. The door to the left (No. 1) is boarded, while the door to the right (No. 2) is half-glazed, both sheltered by a continuous flat hood. A narrow, parallel rendered range extends to the rear. The interior of the houses has not been inspected.
