Description
Nos. 1 and 2 on The Street are a pair of houses dating from the mid-to-late 18th century. The ground floor is made of red brick in Flemish bond, while the first floor is weatherboarded. The building has a plain tile roof and is positioned at right angles to the street. It is two storeys tall with an attic and features a gambrel roof with half-hipped gable ends. There are projecting gable end stacks and two barely-projecting dormers. The front has a regular arrangement of two windows, each consisting of small three-light wooden casements set towards the gable ends. The ground floor also has similar three-light casements with segmental heads. There are two adjoining doors in the centre, each under flat bracketed hoods; the left door is half-glazed, while the right door is panelled. At the rear, there is a lean-to. The interior has not been inspected.
