Description

A row of four 18th-century cottages, now combined into two dwellings, stands on Church Street in Teston. The cottages are timber-framed with weatherboard cladding and a plain tile roof, set upon a brick plinth. The roof is half-hipped, with one brick ridge stack positioned towards the centre of each former house pair. Two small hipped dormers are located on the left side, flanking the left stack. The windows are irregularly placed, featuring four 12-pane sash windows. Two half-glazed doors are present; one leads to No. 3, accessed via five steps at the left end of the building, and the other to No. 4, located immediately to the left of the centre of the building and sharing a continuous hood with a blocked doorway to its right. A blocked doorway is situated at the right end. There is a further half-glazed door at the rear of the right gable end. The interior was not inspected. The building is included on the list for its group value.
