Description

Becketts Croft is a house dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the late 19th century. It is constructed of dark red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with lighter red brick dressings and "chainage". The left gable end features chequered red and grey brick. The roof is covered with plain tiles and is hipped, with two rear brick stacks and two flat-roofed dormers.

The house has two storeys and an attic, set on a chamfered brick plinth. A moulded wooden eaves cornice with plain modillions runs along the top of the house. The front elevation has a regular arrangement of five windows, which are slightly recessed sashes spaced in a 2:1:2 pattern, with wavy rubbed brick heads. Sunk rubbed brick panels are positioned between the ground and first-floor windows. The two left-hand ground-floor windows have depressed ogee rubbed brick heads. A late 19th-century bay window is situated on the right side. The central front door is half-glazed and has a rectangular top light, sheltered by an open gabled porch.

A short rear return wing is located to the left, with a chequered brick ground floor, weatherboarded first floor, and a hipped plain tile roof. A short red brick rear wing extends to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
