Description

Tutsham Hall is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, possibly incorporating parts of an earlier house. The front elevation is made of buff brick in Flemish bond, while the right gable end features a chequered pattern of red and grey brick. The building has a slate roof and consists of three storeys and a basement. It has a buff brick plinth in Flemish bond and a dentilled brick eaves cornice with flat eaves soffits. The roof is shallow-pitched and hipped, with a slightly projecting brick gable end stack on the left and a brick ridge stack to the right of centre.

The front has a regular arrangement of four windows, featuring recessed sashes with thin glazing bars. There are three windows to the left and one to the right of the stack: a nine-pane window under the eaves on the second floor, a sixteen-pane window with cambered heads and splayed rubbed brick voussoirs on the first floor, and similar windows on the ground floor, which have additional vertical margin lights except for the right end window. The third first-floor window from the left is set in a rectangular single-storey buff brick bay that has a plinth and a parapet. The central door, located to the left of the three windows, has four moulded panels and a rectangular fanlight with margin lights, and is set behind a Doric porch featuring a panelled frieze and a moulded cornice.

To the right, there is a three-storey parallel rear range made of red brick, with a dentilled eaves cornice, a hipped slate roof, and a brick ridge stack. There is also a two-storey addition to the right gable end of the parallel rear range. The interior has not been inspected.
