Description

No. 51 is a house dating from around 1800, constructed from limestone rubble with squared quoins and a slate roof, featuring brick end stacks. It has a symmetrical plan typical of the period, standing two storeys high with three bays. The windows are sash style, set in plain raised surrounds with relieving arches above. There is a double-width sash window with a dividing mullion on the right side. The central doorway has a moulded stone architrave topped by a triangular pediment supported by shaped consoles. The door is six-panelled, with the lower two panels flush, the two central panels raised and fielded, and the upper two cut away and glazed. To the left side, there is an adjoining wall that is 7 metres long and 3 metres high, which is significant as it retains parts of an adjoining building of a similar date.
