Description

Whitstone House is a house dated 1762. It is constructed of Doulting ashlar and render, with a slate roof. The building is arranged in a ā€œUā€ shape, with gabled wings projecting at right angles to the front facade on both sides. The house has two storeys and is divided into a 1:3:1 bay arrangement. It features sash windows with glazing bars, set within moulded stone architraves. The central door opening is framed by a stone doorcase with a flat entablature that incorporates a triglyph frieze supported on three-quarter columns, leading to double half-glazed doors accessed by three steps. A moulded and dentilled cornice sits above, followed by a plain parapet with coping to the central portion. Lead rainwater heads and downpipes dated 1782 are located on each corner.
