Description
Jessamine Cottage is a 17th-century cottage located on the west side of High Street in Queen Camel. It is part of a row of cottages and has been modified over time. The building is constructed from local lias stone that has been cut and squared, and it features a thatched roof with abutments and a brick and stone chimney stack. The cottage is single storey with attics and consists of four bays.
The windows include horizontal bar casements in an early pattern in bay 1 and the upper part of bay 3, a small-pane three-light casement in the lower part of bay 3, and two small lights set in an ovolo mould timber frame in bay 4. All lower windows have timber lintels, and in lower bay 2, there is a six-flush-panel door with two glazed lights under a timber lintel, but without a hood. The interior has not been seen.
