Description
Primrose Cottage is a cottage located in a row on High Street in Queen Camel, dating from the 18th century or earlier. It is constructed from local lias stone that is roughly cut and squared, and it features an asbestos cement slate roof that likely replaced the original thatch. The cottage has two storeys and consists of two bays. The windows are horizontal bar casements, with two-light multiple bars above and three-light windows below; the first bay has a narrow window while the second bay has a wider one, both set under timber lintels. To the right of the second bay is a simple boarded door with a glazed light, set in a heavy frame within a plain opening and also under a timber lintel. The front wall displays a straight joint between the bays and shows evidence that the roof has been raised. The interior has not been seen. The cottage is attached on the north side to Caburn, while the cottage on the south side is not of special interest.
