Description
Morven is a 17th-century house located at the end of a row on High Street in Queen Camel. The building is constructed from local lias stone that is nearly ashlar, with Ham stone dressings, red brick, and a stone parapet. It features a plain clay tiled roof with copings and brick end chimney stacks. The house has two storeys and three bays. Originally, it had chamfer-mullioned windows set in wave mould recesses with labels, but all the mullions have been removed. Currently, there are two 12-pane casements above and pairs of plain sash windows below in each unit. In the lower bay two, there is a 6-panel door set in a heavy wood frame with a classical timber architrave. The parapet includes a string mould and plain Ham stone coping. The interior has not been seen. This house was formerly the doctor's residence in the village, with the house to the south having served as the surgery.
