Description
Weir House is an 18th-century building located on the corner of Staplegrove Road and French Weir Avenue. It is a two-storey structure with a roughcast south front and a slate roof. The facade features three windows, with three-light canted bays on either side of the ground floor. The windows are sashes with glazing bars. The entrance includes a doorcase with an open pediment supported by Tuscan three-quarter columns, leading to a central round-headed doorway that has a fanlight and double three-panel doors.
Weir House is part of a group that includes Weir Lodge and gatepiers, as well as Nos 86 to 90 (even) Staplegrove Road, the Summerhouse at the Language Centre, The Cottage, and Swiss Cottage on Linden Grove.
