Description

Chestnut House is an 18th-century building located on the west side of Smallhythe Road. It is a two-storey building with an attic, constructed of red brick with grey brick headers. The roof has three dormers. A brick string course and eaves cornice run along the top of the facade. Five sash windows with original glazing bars remain intact. The front door is set within a doorcase featuring Doric pilasters and is framed by a moulded wooden architrave with a fanlight above. It has an eight-panelled door. Chestnut House forms a group with Tile Cottage and the adjacent garden wall.
