Description
This range of farm buildings, located about 10 metres north of Whitefield House, dates from the early 19th century. Constructed from red sandstone random rubble with a slate roof, the buildings are set into the hillside. The animal shed is a single storey structure featuring eight round-headed arched openings, with a single bay return on the right. To the left, there is a two-storey building that has a round-headed opening at the first floor, accompanied by an external flight of steps, while the ground floor serves as a store. The main entrance to the barn is located on the rear elevation, which is also single storey due to the sloping ground. This range of buildings forms an attractive backdrop to Whitefield House.
