Description

The Wills Chest Tomb, located 5 metres south of the southeast corner of the south aisle of the Church of Saint Mary, is an 18th-century chest tomb made of Ham stone. It features a base slab and a moulded plinth, with fielded panels on each face and single fielded-panelled pilasters on the flanks. The tomb has a hipped top and commemorates members of the Wills family, including John Wills, who died in 1766, which is likely the date of the main inscription and the tomb itself.
