Description

The boundary wall and raised pavement located about 10 meters west of the Hollies in Bower Hinton is likely from the 18th century. The wall is constructed of Ham stone, resembling ashlar, and stands approximately 1.5 meters high. It features a thin angled coping and returns to the north-west corner of the house. In front of the wall, there are square gate piers with a moulded rebate and topped with step and ball finials. The raised pavement in front is made of squared Ham stone and Keinton stone flags, with Ham stone edging that averages 700 millimeters high. There are three stone steps leading up to the gateway. This structure contributes to the setting of the house and enhances the streetscape.
