Description
No. 1 is a semi-detached house located on Blind Lane in Bower Hinton, dating from the early 19th century. It is built from cut and squared ham stone and features a plain clay tiled roof with a stepped coped gable at the east end, continuing to the west. The house has two storeys and three bays, with sash windows that have 20 panes in plain openings beneath keystoned lintels. There is a late 20th-century stone and tiled enclosed porch matching the house, located at the lower bay 2, which includes a six-panel door. An extension is present at the north-east corner, also two storeys, with a triple roll clay tile roof that aligns with the main ridge line. Although the interior has not been seen, approximately 2.5 meters south of the house, there are front boundary railings set on a low stone wall. These railings are about 1 meter high and feature cast-iron spear derivative tops, with no gate, contributing to the overall setting of the house.
