Description
This milestone, located about 5 metres west of Lodge Farmhouse in Durston Village, dates from the early 19th century. It has been restored and reset in the late 20th century. The milestone is made of sandstone and features a cambered head with an attached cast iron plaque. The plaque is inscribed with "5 miles to Bridgwater," and the name of the makers, Harford and Co, Bristol, is noted in the bottom left corner.
