Description
Mountlands is a house built in the early 19th century, with alterations made to the west front in the mid-19th century. The exterior is rendered over rubble and features asbestos slate roofing, coped verges, overhanging eaves, and brackets on the west front, along with brick stacks at the gable ends. The building has a double pile plan with a kitchen wing attached to the southeast corner.
On the east front, the house is two storeys high with three bays, featuring 16-pane sash windows and a central semi-circular headed stairlight. Below this, there is a small glazed opening beneath a long single-storey brick kitchen wing, which has brick stacks at the centre and the gable end of the southeast corner. The west front has first-floor sash windows with a single glazing bar, while the ground floor includes slate-roofed canted bay windows flanking a semi-circular headed entrance. The entrance has a moulded surround with a fanlight and a half-glazed door.
