LONG SUTTON CP HARDING'S HILL (East side) ST42NE 6/160 - Milestone at NGR ST 4745 2637

Milestone. C19. Ham stone pillar with cast iron plaque. Pillar 450mm wide, 200 mm thick and 1 metre tall, with triangular top; plaque 380mm wide and 410 mm deep, with reverse curves to top corners, and reads "LONG SUTTON/1 MILE/SOMERTON/2 MILE". This road was turnpiked in 1761 and remained in the care of the small Martock Trust until 1839.
