Description
The north and east boundary walls, along with the gateway to the Friends' Meeting House, are significant structures primarily from the 19th century, with some parts dating back to the 18th century. They are constructed from local lias stone, featuring cut and squared walls with stepped-sloped copings that stand about 1.1 metres high. The square gate piers have cornice-moulded caps and are topped with steps and pyramidal finials. The cast-iron gates, located opposite the north doorway of the Friends' Meeting House, are adorned with spear-head finials. Additionally, there is a lias stone mounting block situated half a metre northwest of the gateway, which includes three steps. These elements collectively enhance the setting of an important example of a Meeting House.
