Description
The Haywood monument is a 17th-century chest tomb located in the churchyard, 3 metres south-east of the porch of the Church of St Andrew. It is made of Doulting stone, with its base buried. The flanks feature two semi-circular arched panels set between reeded pilasters, each adorned with ovals. There is a latching single panel at each end, decorated with fleur-de-lys motifs. The frieze bears an inscription, and the tomb has a moulded hipped top. It commemorates Hayward and his wife, with the dates 1617 and 1663 visible, the latter likely marking the date of the tomb's construction.
