Description
The Old Sunday School is a building founded in 1772, with its facade rebuilt after 1835. It is constructed of limestone rubble with a brick facade and features a gabled slate roof with a brick stack on the left end. The building has a rectangular plan, is one storey high with an attic, and has a four-window range, including a large gabled half-dormer on the right. The front is supported by wooden posts and has two plank doors beneath a lean-to. There are two-light Tudor arched stone-mullioned windows with sunk spandrels and diamond-latticed cames. At the rear, there is a lean-to with a pantile roof. The interior contains 19th-century features. It is mentioned in a deed from 1835 as a Sunday School for the poor children of the parish.
