Description

Hill House is an 18th-century farmhouse, now a house, located on the east side of Broadmead Lane in Edington. The building is constructed of coursed and squared rubble with coped verges and a pantile roof, featuring brick stacks. It is two storeys high and has four bays. The windows are predominantly 2- and 3-light casements with glazing bars, with cambered heads, except for the window on the right-hand side of the ground floor, which has a square head. The central doorway has a 6-panelled door surmounted by a fanlight with radiating glazing bars, sheltered by a flat wooden hood supported on ornamental cut brackets. An Estate Map of 1792, which is deposited at the Somerset Record Office, shows the property.
