Description

The Abbey Infant School Annexe is a school building constructed in 1841 and extended in 1878. It is made of ashlar stone and features a 20th-century slate roof. The building has ashlar dressings, coped gables with kneelers, a single gable stack, and a decorative finial. It is a single-storey structure with seven bays. The main south front includes three projecting gabled bays, each with a triple lancet window. To the left, there are two pointed arched doorways with hood moulds, and to the right, a triple lancet window is flanked by later 19th-century buttresses. Beyond that, there is a single bay lean-to addition with a close boarded door. The west end has a flat-roofed single-storey porch with a ramped coped parapet and a three-light mullioned window with a depressed ogee hood mould. The rear elevation has similar window features to the front.
