SUTTON CP KNOLE CAUSEWAY (South side) ST42NE KNOLE 6/168 Mill Cottage 17.4.59 GV

Detached cottage. C18 and later. Local lias stone cut and roughly squared; thatched roof with plain gables; brick chimney stacks. Two storeys, 3- bay irregular fenestration. Casement windows of 2 lights under timber lintols, mostly leaded panes, the upper of elder pattern and set into thatch: left of bay 1 a boarded door in heavy frame under timber lintol; lean-to porch against west gable. Interior not seen, but reported are a jointed cruck roof truss, fireplace with cambered arched timber lintol, a cob east wall, some chamfered beams (VAG Report, SRO Unpublished, 1973).
