Description
Ciderpress Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the 16th century, with reshaping occurring in the 18th century. It is constructed from local lias stone that has been cut and squared, topped with a Welsh slate roof featuring stepped coped gables and a hipped forward projection. The building has an 'L'-shaped plan and consists of two storeys with five bays, where the first bay is a two-bay projection. The windows are 20th-century casements with two and three lights, and there is a flush-panelled door in a heavy frame at the lower bay four. Timber lintels are present over all openings in the main block, while concrete lintels are used in the extension. There is also a single-storey lean-to located to the east of the projection.
Although the interior has not been seen, it is reported to contain wide stone fireplaces, deep chamfered beams, some 18th-century features, and a suspected cob wall.
