Description
The Manor is a detached house built around 1840. It is constructed from local lias stone that is cut and squared with a pecked finish, and features Ham stone dressings. The roof is made of Welsh slate and has gable overhangs, with a rendered brick chimney stack. The house has an 'L' plan and stands two storeys tall. The south elevation consists of three bays, with the center bay projecting as a gable. It has sash windows with 16 panes set in plain openings, which are topped with deep stone lintels. In the second bay, there is a cambered arched moulded doorway with incised spandrils and a square label. The door is shaped and has a plain toplight above it, and there is a stone panel above the door featuring a coronet over the letter 'I'. This is likely in reference to Lord Ilchester, who developed the dairy farms in the village during the 1840s.
