Description
Pound Cottage is a detached cottage that dates from the 18th century or earlier. It is constructed from local lias stone that is roughly cut and squared, topped with a thatched roof featuring plain gables and stone chimney stacks. The cottage is single-storey with attics and has three bays with random window arrangements. The lower level features early timber casements with two and three lights, and a single-light window to the right of the third bay. Above these, there is a 20th-century casement set into the thatch, all windows having leaded lights. The walling indicates that the roof has been raised. Between the first and second bays, there is an old boarded door set in a heavy frame, with timber lintels above this and all lower openings. There is a stair light to the extreme left of the facade and another set to the right of the doorway. A lean-to garage is located on the south gable. The interior has not been seen.
