Description

The Thatch is a detached cottage, probably from the 18th century. It is built of locally sourced lias stone that is roughly cut and squared, topped with a thatched roof featuring plain gables and brick chimney stacks at each end. The cottage has two storeys and displays three bays with random window arrangements. The upper level features small leaded timber framed windows with iron opening lights. On the lower level, the first two bays contain small pane, two-light casements, while the third bay has a three-light, ovolo mould timber framed window. The lower windows have timber lintels. Between the second and third bays, there is a boarded door set in a heavy frame, accompanied by a rustic timber and thatch open porch. The interior has not been seen.
