Description
The Town House is a detached farmhouse dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed from local lias stone that is roughly squared, with Ham stone dressings. The roof is made of double Roman clay tiles and features coped gables, along with brick chimney stacks at each end. The building has an L-shaped plan, consisting of two storeys and three bays. The windows are hollow chamfered mullioned types with labels and unworked top mitres, arranged in three lights, and some have iron opening casements. The lower bay of the third window has had its mullions removed. There is a boarded door set in a heavy frame between the first and second bays, which is sheltered by an early 20th-century stone and slate porch. The west gable has blocked windows that match the original design. Additionally, there is a return wing from the later 18th century that faces Polham Lane on the east side. The interior has not been seen.
