Description
Ballacree is a detached house, likely once several cottages, dating from the 17th century, with significant reconstruction in the 20th century. It is built of local lias stone that is cut and squared, with Ham stone dressings, and features a thatched roof with plain gables and stone chimney stacks. The building is two storeys and single storey with an attic, comprising seven bays with irregular fenestration. The lower bays 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7 have hollow chamfered mullioned windows with four lights, all featuring labels. Above these, there are mostly leaded casements, some of which cut into the roofline, along with gabled dormers in bays 5 and 6. Bay 2 has a small pane casement, while bay 1 includes a single storey thatched extension against the east gable. Bay 3 features a boarded door set in a moulded cambered arched surround, accompanied by a 20th-century stone and tiled porch. The east gable has matching mullioned windows, which appear to be 20th-century copies. The interior has not been seen.
