Description

The Roof Tree is a cottage dating from the early 19th century, located in a row on the north side of West Street in Somerton. It is constructed from local lias stone that is cut and squared, topped with a triple roll clay tile roof featuring coped gables and brick chimney stacks at either end. The building has two storeys and consists of two bays. It features sash windows with 20 panes set in plain openings, which have voussoired flat arches below and dovetailed stone lintels above. The central entrance is a six-panel door with glazed toplights, situated in a matching opening. The interior has not been seen.
