Description

Shirley Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from local stone that is roughly cut and squared, topped with a clay pantiled roof featuring simple gables and stone chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and an irregular arrangement of two bays. The windows are small pane casements with two lights, set in plain recesses, with no window in the lower bay of the first section. There is a boarded door with a plain stone lintel located to the right of the second bay. A lean-to structure is present against the east gable. The interior has not been seen, but the cottage appears to have changed little since it was built.
