Description

Holly Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the early 19th century. It is built from local stone that is cut and squared, with a roughly coursed appearance. The roof is covered with double Roman clay tiles and features simple verges, along with a brick chimney stack that has a traditional baffle. The cottage has two storeys and five bays. The 19th-century windows are mostly two-light casements with horizontal glazing bars, with upper windows present only in bays one and three. There are boarded doors in plain openings located in bays three and five. The roof is low, although there are signs that it has been raised at some point. The interior has not been seen, but it gives the impression of a humble cottage that has not been significantly altered.
