Description

Lilac Cottage is a semi-detached cottage dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed from local lias stone that is cut and squared, and features a thatched roof with a coped west gable and a brick chimney stack at one end. The cottage has two storeys and three bays, and is set lower than the adjacent Lamperts, suggesting it may have been built earlier. The windows are mostly small-pane casements with two lights and timber lintels. There is a central boarded door located in a deep recess under a timber lintel, and there is a matching extension at the rear. The interior was not seen as it was undergoing renovation in June 1984.
